“挖掘”是一个以女性艺术家及策展人为主的展览，6位中外艺术家的创作都与她们在成长过程中的自身经历有关，分别呈现了她们来自不同国家和文化背景下的历史印迹，以女性的视角出发，以不同文化背景下的艺术家视角出发，深挖她们背后的故事，一些隐秘的、或者被遗忘的情绪。我们提出全女性的展览并没有强调“女权”本身的意义，虽然九十年代早期“女权主义”的复归确实使得女性在社会中被关注的程度有所提高，但我们今天的展览只是想以女性这样一个自然视角切入，或温柔敏感、或强硬叛逆，不含比较的展示。

"EXCAVATIONS" is an exhibition focusing on female artists and curators. The work of six Chinese and foreign female artists thematically relates to their own experiences - the process of their coming of age. The diverse artworks shed light on formative influences in their respective cultures. These artists from different countries explore their own personal narratives, hidden or half-forgotten emotions and they do so from the perspective of female practitioners with different cultural backgrounds. The revival of feminism in the 1990s heightened the concern over women’s issues in society, however this is an all-female exhibition which does not place emphasis on ‘feminism’ in the narrow sense. Here they are simply artists  and the exhibition is curated from a gender neutral perspective, without gender comparison.
