“冯巍是这几年我们福建画坛特别是油画界涌现出来的一位非常有潜质并且有创新思维的重要代表。他在进入新世纪以来，十几年来，应该说他在观念上有这么一个理想，有一种抱负。这几年他的关注点，可以说分成三个主题，一个是湖光水色，一个是坊巷空间，再一个是塔影天光。我觉得这三个描绘的景象，他首先都是非常具有东方的，中国的，还特别具有南方文化遗存的特点。所以这些年啊，可以说他很能够深入地沉浸在自己的思考世界里。这看上去也是他的性格，但是我觉得更是一种学术上的一种自觉。让自己艺术工作的心态能够在一个很沉稳地，很有坚定目标地，这样一个境界中展开。在我看来，冯巍这些年，他在油画创作上把这种文化关怀和他所要表达的景象结合起来，看上去他画的是一些风景，但是这些风景，首先是作为人文遗存的东西，更重要的是，他在对这些风景的一种视觉观照中带有人文情怀，也就是说有自己的体验，用自己的关于这些风景的历史知识，特别是看到风景中的人文生命，这样的一种情怀去画风景，去表达风景。所以他笔下的风景，具有了一种人文的气息。所以我觉得他在这个坊巷系列里面很好的体现了一种学者的情怀，一种体验式的沉浸式的一种艺术表达方式。

那么在他塔的这个系列里面，我觉得也很成功地进行了探索。因为塔作为佛教的象征符号，所以冯巍笔下的这批塔很好的体现了两个方面的特征，一个是塔与环境。比如他画面中的塔都在一种特定的光线下，或者朦胧或者是浑然一体，或者塔和天空，塔基和大地，甚至有时候就是一段完整的身影，他表达的都是塔身所具有的生命感。所以纵观他这几个系列，我觉得作为一个油画家，他能够一方面在主题上内容上题材上来表达自己的一种文化关怀，另外一方面呢，他在艺术语言，也就是油画的表达上，从形式的构图到具体的技法，比如说，油画色层的厚薄，油画色调的组织，他都下了很大的功夫。比如说他作品的肌理很丰富，色彩的变化很微妙，尤其把光影当成一个重要的视觉元素加以运用。这样就使得他的作品和我们所看到的景像的时间性，时间的痕迹，这样一个表达的追求相吻合。所以在他的作品面前，我们能进入到一个历史的时间和空间里，从那里感受到这些景物所散发出来的一种生命的光彩。”

Feng Wei was a great potential and have an important representative of innovative thinking  in the past few years of our Fujian painting especially in the oil painting world.Entered the new century, more than ten years, it should be said that he has such an ideal concept, there is an ideal.In the past few years his concerns can be said is divided into three topics, one is the view of lake, and  lane space, another is tower in the sky.I think the three topics, he is very  East, China, but also with the characteristics of the southern cultural relics.So these years, it can be said that he is very able to deeply immersed in his own thinking about the world. It looks like his personality, but I think it's a kind of academic intuition.

In my opinion, from these years, he combined the cultural concern with the scene he wants to express in his oil painting creation  , it looks like  he painting  some of the scenery, but he express the cultural relics, more important is,  in the scenery he has a visual observation with human feelings, is said to have his own experience and   the landscape of historical knowledge, especially to see the scenery in human life, such a kind of feelings to paint landscapes,and express them.to this end, he paint the scenery, with a kind of humanistic atmosphere.So I think he is in this lane series which well showed a scholar's feelings, a kind of experience of immersion type art expression.

In this series of his tower, I think it is also a very successful exploration.Because the tower as a symbol of Buddhism,  the batch of the tower of Feng Wei's works well reflects the characteristics of the two aspects, one is the tower and the environment.Such as his picture of the tower are in a particular light, or obscure or is seamless, or tower and the sky, the tower and the earth, even sometimes is a complete tower extends, he expressed the tower has the sense of life.So throughout his several series, I think as a painter, he was able to hand in the subject content and subject matter up a concern of cultural expression, on the other hand, in his expression of oil painting, from the composition of form to concrete technique, for example,He did great efforts on the thickness of the oil chromatographic, organization of colors in oil painting .For example, the texture of his works is very rich, the changes in color is very delicate, especially the light and shadow as an important visual elements to be used.This makes his works and what we see in the scene of the time, traces of time, so a pursuit of expression coincide. In front of his works, we can enter into a history of time and space, from which to feel the light of a life that is distributed by the scenery.
